Construction of two pre-primary learning buildings in Nan province

Ban Sawa School and Ban Hang Thang Luang are primary schools under the Nan Primary Educational service area Office. The schools are located in poor communities surrounding by mountains in Boklua district, Nan Province. Boklua district is considered to be a remote area close to Laos on the east.

Ban Sawa school has undertaken Children and Youth Development Projects of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn since 1996. Following Her initiatives, the school has offered a pre-primary education for small children in order to provide proper nutrition and health services so that they are well prepared for primary education. Since the school has only one room for 68 children, there are too many kids and have not enough space for doing activities. As a consequence the development activities cannot be undertaken at full speeds.

Objective : In order to provide safe, better place and healthy environment conducive to children’s growth and development, Ban Sawa school needed to build a learning building.
Budget : The estimated budget of 1,100,000 baht for a concrete building with 9.3 m width, 18 m length.
Duration : March 2014 – June 2014.

Outcome : Pre-primary children have an appropriate learning area for enhancing their growth and development so that they are well prepared and ready for the primary education.
